For our ARCH 462 Structure 2 course, we were assigned to design a bus shelter located in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia called the Arbutus Corridor. The goal for project 2 was for the structure to be designed using a pleasing and appropriate hierarchy of steel shapes.
I created my bus shelter with a butterfly roof to not only withstand extreme winds and other weather conditions, but to also harvest rainwater for plants from the rain gutter. The rainwater from the gutter will then lead to the rainwater collection system that will also lead to the plants. This system can also allow individuals to interact with the water flow.
